The Cayman Islands enjoy a perfect tropical climate with an average year-round temperature of 84 degrees during the summer and 75 degrees during the winter. The ocean temperature ranges from 75 to 85 degrees.CREDIT CARDS
Major credit cards are accepted throughout the island. Casa Caribe accepts MasterCard, VISA and Discover..CURRENCY EXCHANGE
The U.S. dollar is widely accepted in the Cayman Islands. If US currency is used for payment, change will likely be given in CI. Our currency is similar to the U.S. and consists of 1 cent, 5 cent, 10 cent, and 25 cent coins. Paper currency is in the form of $1 (blue), $5 (green), 25$ (brown), $50 (blue), and $100 (orange) bills. In general, a U.S. $ = CI.80 and a CI $ = $1.25 U.S., but please call the front desk for the latest exchange rate. If you want a better exchange rate, take money in the form of travelers checks to the local bank and they will pay a better rate.ELECTRICITY
The Cayman Islands electricity is the same as the U.S., which is 110 volts, 60 cycles. Visitors from countries other than U.S. may need to use adapters. Electricity is generated by diesel generators which is a costly method compared with many communities. Please help us conserve energy whenever possible.GARBAGE
Trash is collected during daily maid service. Additional garbage may be disposed of in the receptacle, located on the south side of the property (nearest the gym) in the gated area. Please place garbage inside the receptacle.GRATUITIES
Rental guests pay a 6% gratuity tax on the Gross Rental Rate, which is included in your room charges paid prior to your arrival. If you are particularly pleased with a service or housekeeper, and would like to reward them, it is acceptable to do so upon departure either personally or through the front office.HOUSEKEEPING SERVICE
While staying at Casa Caribe, you will receive daily housekeeping service except for Sundays and Christmas Day. See “More about Grand Cayman” for a list of holidays. Housekeeping is between 8:00am and 3:00pm, and up to 4pm during high season (December to March, dates vary annually). A specific time for service may be requested, however it is not guaranteed. Every day you will receive fresh towels along with general cleaning and trash removal unless otherwise noted. Every other day the sheets will be changed. If you require more towels, please call the office by dialing 945-4287. You will be provided with beach/pool towels, which are dark green, and should be used as they identify you as our guest.LOST and FOUND
Please check with the front office for any missing or misplaced items. Casa Caribe cannot assume responsibility for any missing items left behind. Found items will be held for 30 days. After the time period, if we are not notified, items will be given to charity. Mailing items can be expensive; however we will mail them if you are willing to pre-pay the mailing charges.NOISE
Please respect the comfort of others even when using your own condominium. Consider the fact that loud noise and music carry more than normal in open beachfront condominiums. Loud music and partying should be kept to a minimum. Please keep music suitable for listening in your own unit and balcony, and consider those at the pool. No noise should be obvious outside the unit after 9pm.BABYSITTING AND CHILD CARE
Previous guests of Casa Caribe have recommended the following child care providers. Additionally, child care may be arranged through the main office. There is one propane BBQ grill located on property – at the back of the pool. A garbage can is located next to the grill. Please tidy the BBQ grill area when you are finished and dispose of litter properly. Beach side grilling, personal charcoal and gas grills are not allowed. In the event the propane needs to be replenished, contact the office by calling 945-4287 for assistance.BEACH EQUIPMENT
All beach equipment (including sand toys, floats, snorkeling gear, and diving equipment) should be rinsed and removed from the common areas when not in use and certainly at the end of the day. None of this equipment may be stored under stairwells. Draping towels, bathing suits, snorkel gear, etc, over the balconies is unsightly and NOT allowed.BUSINESS CENTER
Casa Caribe does not have a business center. However, if your needs are immediate and limited, please check with the front desk for assistance. The front office is equipped with a guest computer for internet access and printing of boarding passes. There is also a fax and copy machine available at CI$0.25 per page.CHAISE LOUNGES
Lounge chairs is available for Casa Caribe guests and owners only. Please do not take them to locations other than the beach area of our property. For environmental reasons, it is prohibited to put our chairs in the sea. Guests may reserve a lounge chair and/or an umbrella by placing their towel on it. However, if the lounge or umbrella is not used within a half hour, then anyone may use it by removing the towel.CRIBS AND HIGH CHAIRS
The front office can provide cribs and high chairs upon request. This is best done when making your reservation as we have only a limited supply.DIVE EQUIPMENT
All dive equipment should be rinsed at the beach or pool shower. Rinsing, storing or drying equipment is not allowed any other place.DOORS
All Casa Caribe units are equipped with sliding doors and push up windows. For security reasons doors are equipped with additional push pins or Murphy locks. It is strongly recommended that doors remain locked for privacy and security.GYM/FITNESS CENTER
The Fitness Center is available for Casa Caribe guests and owners use only. You will be given a key upon check-in and the gym can be used at your convenience. No food and no minors are allowed in the gym. Use of the fitness center and the equipment is at your own risk. Casa Caribe will not be held responsible for any injury incurred directly or indirectly from the use or misuse of this equipment.INTERNET/WI-FI CONNECTION
Please feel free to bring your laptop with you, as Casa Caribe provide free WIFI to our owners and guest. Please check with the office for all instructions.NEWSPAPER
Our local Newspaper, the Cayman Compass and Cayman Net News, has information on local happenings. The Cayman Compass will be delivered to your unit Mondays and Fridays free of charge. International newspapers are available at an additional charge and can be arranged prior to arrival.PARKING
Parking is free. There are enough spots provided for one vehicle per unit.POOL & HOT TUBS
The property has a large fresh water pool with a water fall and a hot tub. Hot tubs are for adults only. Children under the age of 7 are prohibited. This is strictly for their safety. There is no lifeguard on duty. Games such as Marco Polo are not allowed. Please read the signs located in the main pool area and keep the noise level to a minimum before 8:00am and after 9:00pm, as other guests and children may be sleeping.SAFES
Each unit is equipped with a keyed or self-programmable safe. There is only one key per safe and you will be issued your key upon check-in. If you should lose your key there will a charge of US$100.00 for re-keying the safe. Please contact the management office if you have any questions.TENNIS
Our property has a lighted tennis court located at the front of the building. We ask that you use the sign-up sheets located next to the gate entering the court. It allows for one hour of play, per unit maximum unless no one else has signed up. The office has a limited amount of tennis rackets and used balls. Borrowed racquets and balls may be collected and returned during office hours only. Please check the office for details and be courteous and responsible when using our tennis court.TELEPHONE

The local bus system is a private service, not a municipal operation. Busses run at irregular intervals daily between West Bay and George Town. They can be caught at any bus stop sign, shelter or simply along the road by waving your hand. The busses can be recognized by the green round “WB” sticker located both on the front and rear of the van. The approximate times vary from every 5-15 minutes (Cayman time) and will cost CI $2.00 one way. Upon boarding, just tell the driver where you are going and ask him to stop at your destination.CAR RENTALS

Water and electricity are precious and expensive commodities. Please ensure we do not waste either. Please clean feet in foot wash before entering condominiums or swimming pool. The management will not be responsible for accidents, injuries or losses to guests. As such, Casa Caribe reserves the right to reject any persons who create an unpleasant situation or becomes a nuisance to the property, other guests or staff.SAFETY, SECURITY & EMERGENCY
Please lock your windows and doors and use your safes at all times. Keep valuables secured. If your villa is not equipped with a safe (in the master bedroom), or you do not understand how to use it, contact the front desk by dialing 945-4287. We encourage you to use the safes provided in the units whenever possible. Fire Alarms are placed in all units and it is against the law to tamper with any fire alarms or smoke detectors. These have been placed throughout the building for your protection and are to be used ONLY in the case of fire. In the event of a fire, the alarms will sound and the Fire Department will need to be notified by dialing 911. In case of fire, please DO NOT USE THE ELEVATORS. If you hear a fire alarm, please congregate in the parking lot. Make sure everyone in your party is accounted for or with you. Instructions are posted on the back of your entrance door. The Manager will provide further instructions. While Grand Cayman is considered one of the safest islands in the Caribbean, it is still advisable to lock doors and use safes in order to keep valuables secured.
